tangents

never a straight line

All of this is by design.

In any endeavor success starts with a clear vision.

Here is mine.

I tell stories that

  1. explore interiors,
  2. feature conflicted, flawed characters,
  3. are intended to be timeless rather than cash in on current fads or trends in the market,
  4. have deeper meaning and are meant to be taken seriously,
  5. attempt to address universal themes—human nature, desire, repentance, and the like,
  6. demonstrate my strong, unique voice as a writer,
  7. use metaphor and reference other works of art, often taking them in new directions,
  8. experiment with chronology, dialogue, and other elements of storytelling when such novelty serves to heighten the impact,
  9. are so well crafted that the finished work is short, to the point, and easily accessible,
  10. eschew conventional resolution with endings that make you think,
  11. force the reader to confront something about himself—not escape it.
